Happy Birthday Sebastian!

Well today, November 26, 2013, is my cat Sebastian’s birthday, she turned two today. Now I know people may wonder if it was a grammatical mistake by calling Sebastian a “she,” but in actuality you’re wrong. Sebastian is a girl. Everyone always asks why did I name her that, and here it is. I used to watch Little Mermaid every night before I went to bed as a child and absolutely fell in love with Ariel’s best friend Sebastian the lobster. I always said the next time I get a pet, boy or girl it will be named Sebastian because it will be my best friend. There you have it and to think we really are best friends. Please don’t assume I’m going to end up being the old lady, alone with 20 cats. It’s just me and Sebastian have a deep bond that me and another could ever share. The love a human can have with their animal companion is amazing and quite cute. Anyway, happy birthday Sebastian, and I wish you many more! See you when I get home J

Military? Maybe?

I’ve been thinking about my future lately, and I’ve been considering going to the military. I’m not really sure which branch would fit me best, so I still need to do my research. A lot of military brats try to give me their opinion on which branch is easiest, hardest, largest, most respected, etc. I’ve narrowed it down to the navy or air force, but I’m sort of kind of scared of water and scared of heights. Something that I have to rid of before I join either one huh? I have people in my ear telling me I can’t do it, or I won’t make it, or once I sign that dotted line it won’t be what I expected. I guess it depends on the experience I get from it. But when people tell me that, it makes me more anxious to prove them wrong. I mean who wouldn’t take the opportunity? There’s always a spot for any and every one, you’ll always be protected, fed, housed, discounts, holidays, and best of all they pay for your schooling. You can’t beat it. Hopefully I can get recruited this summer.

When Will the Semester be Over?!

Is it just me or is everyone ready for this semester to be over with? I mean we’ve been coming to the same classes, looking at the same faces, listening to the same prolonged lectures by our professors. This semester seems as if it’s been going on for over a year now. I’m so ready for Spring semester as much as I’m anticipating Spring weather. Winter break is slowly approaching and I can not explain how excited I am. The count- down is slowly approaching and it’s starting to eat me alive. I don’t have much planned, but I do hope to sleep for hours without having to worry about alarms going off every five minutes because I’m hitting the snooze, or have mountains of homework to look forward to. Hopefully I can pick up more hours at work and start saving money. I can’t really work that much while I’m school, but I do what I can. Sometimes I feel like the only student on campus who actually works. Probably.

What's Up With the Weather?!

Good morning everyone! I’m not sure where everyone is located, but trust me you don’t want to be where I am this morning. It’s freezing here in Virginia, has been for weeks now. What’s up with the weather here lately? One day it reminds one of summer, and the next it’s winter. The weather changes so dramatically. You would swear it was bipolar. This is the time of year when everyone tends to get sick of course. I know I caught a slight cold. My throat is practically begging for reliefs from the constant coughing, my eyes are red, including my nose. If one didn’t know better they would swear I was Rudolph. I hate being sick. The only significance was actually having a legitimate excuse to not show up to classes, but then again back fired because I’m now behind. I’ve laid up in bed for a few days. My parents have forced prescription drugs down my throat and nothing seems to subside my condition. I used to love sleeping in, but now I dread it because I toss and turn and have the most random nightmares. I love eating chicken soup though. It warms my whole body like a fire was lit in the pit of my stomach. It relaxes me and makes me feel slightly better.

It's a New Year and a New Semester here at RBC

It’s a new year and a new semester here at RBC. A lot has changed both good and bad. My classes so far have been as smooth as butter. They seem to be pretty straight forward, yet complex, and intriguing. My professors seem to be pretty cool, know what they’re talking about, playful, but serious when it’s time. I’m ready to take the bull by the horns, put the BS to the side and get down to work. Last year I didn’t take classes as serious as I should have. I guess I was too caught up in trying to discover the perks of “college.” I just found myself in a financial wreck, and my GPA deplete right before my eyes. But this year will be different. This year is my last year to prove I am ready for a four year institution and ready to finally graduate and move on from Richard Bland. I’m pretty excited about this semester and year overall and can’t wait to see how it all pans out.

Boston Marathon Explosion

Adding to the list of tragedies that have happened in America in the ending months of 2012, and beginning months on 2013, the Boston Marathon explosion. I’m pretty sure everyone has heard and acquired details, and have also formulated their own opinion about the horrific hardship. To those who are uninformed, there were two explosions that occurred about four hours after the Boston Marathon. As runners were crossing the finish line, the explosions took place. According to several sources, at least three individuals were killed and more than 170 individuals were injured. Of the individuals killed by the blast, was an eight year old girl. Fortunately, according to other sources, the suspects of this sad crime have been brought to light. The suspects were apparently brothers. One was shot during a gun fight between himself and police and the other was taken into custody. I’m honestly just appalled at the country/ world that we live in and call home. It’s almost as if every morning I turn on the T.V. there’s some type of breaking news and it’s never good news. The United States needs to ACT united and help make the country/ world we live in a better place for its citizen and residences.

Sleep Break

-          Hello fellow bloggers and blog readers. It’s been a while. Haven’t posted much since Spring Break. I hope everyone enjoyed theirs. I enjoyed mine. Want to know why? You probably don’t care to know why and I don’t care if you don’t care because I just need something to talk about. (The goal is to have right around 200 words by the end of this blog.) Anyways, I absolutely took great pleasure in my break. It was a break well needed and deserved. All I did was sleep. Yep that’s right, SLEEP. People assume break, especially Spring Break generally consist of enjoying the weather, the sun on your skin, relaxing at the beach with friends and family, partying out of your mind, no homework, and definitely no sleep. Well, the weather wasn’t prepared for spring, it snowed majority of the time, I had tons of homework, and was heavily entertained by sleep. I was heartbroken at the thought that break was coming to an end and by Monday I was destroyed. I didn’t want it to stop. It was almost like I was awaken out of a fantasy and was brought back to reality. It was time to get back to the basics at Bland.
